Computershare Childcare Vouchers can be used for registered childcare facilities such as nursery fees, before and after school clubs, holiday play schemes, child-minders, nannies and crèche facilities.
The University offers this scheme to eligible staff as an opportunity to save tax and national insurance on childcare costs.
The conditions that apply to this scheme are:
• Vouchers can be used for children up to the age of 16. Children are cared for in registered childcare settings (includes nannies etc.).
• Parents must have a contract of employment with the University or one of its colleges.
• In order for working parents to stay eligible for childcare vouchers, a childcare voucher must be ordered at least once in a rolling 12-month period.
If you wish to discuss the Childcare Vouchers Scheme, please contact the Computershare voucher team on 0345 002 1111 or via email: parent@computershare.co.uk. Please note that the Childcare Services team cannot amend the amounts parents pay each month, this must be done on an individual basis by logging into a personal Computershare account.
Benefits of the Childcare Voucher Scheme
For those who are already members of the scheme, up to £243 per month can be deducted from your salary and paid directly to your childcare provider. You will save money by not paying tax or national insurance on this amount. If both parents work for the University, both of you can claim. If you are paying for childcare which fluctuates monthly, because your child is at school and therefore you have higher childcare expenses in the holidays, you can still use this scheme.
