Our nurseries are run by qualified childcare professionals who are cognizant of the latest research on child development. They aim to foster a sense of curiosity in each child, offering a wide range of child-led and adult initiated activities. We are proud of the high quality physical environments we offer, including large outdoor play spaces at many of our locations. All of our nurseries are rated at least ‘good’ by Ofsted.
Our nurseries are conveniently located close to university departments and local hospitals, making it as easy as possible for parents to combine work with caring responsibilities. We offer places for the children of both staff and students, from the age of three months to five years. Whilst we cannot guarantee every applicant a nursery place, the ratio of nursery places available to parents at Oxford is significantly better than most other HEIs within the UK (1 place per 31 members of staff, vs. the sector average for the Russell group of 1:61*).
Our nurseries are competitively priced, compared with both local and national providers. Eligible parents may be able to take advantage of our popular salary sacrifice scheme in order to reduce costs even further. We offer the government’s 30 free hours’ childcare for 3-5 year olds in all of our nurseries, as well as supporting both the childcare voucher and tax free childcare schemes. Sibling and holiday play-scheme discounts are also available.
